Sweet (swt) adj. kind, gracious

“I now see myself as a kind and loving person.”

In a space that was once a dark, industrial kitchen, the HOME Sweet HOME (HSH) Preschool now stands as a bright, beautiful testament to the powerful contribution youth can make to the lives of small children. Created from the ground up by youth and adults in February 1998, HOME Sweet HOME has now provided a quality program for over 300 working families with children ages two-five. In its facility based at Alameda Point, children are provided a safe, and supportive environment, which recognizes the individuality of each child. HSH has also begun sharing its model with other Preschool sites in the bay area.

Impacting Youth:
In addition to supporting working families with young children, HSH serves as a unique opportunity for young adults excited about exploring the field of childcare. Housed under the same roof as BASE, HOME Sweet HOME currently offers over forty low-income, racially/ethnically diverse adolescents an intensive, hands-on training experience in childcare that also helps them become kind and generous young adults.

Limited spaces are available for Fall 2008. If you would like to be on our 2008 waiting list, please download the HOME Sweet HOME Application and return it to:
