STEPPING STONE APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Steppin’ Stone is a unique program that gives youth ages 16 to 19 the skills, support and opportunities to transition successfully from high school to college and life!

How it works
Youth ages 16 to 19 benefit from taking classes through the Bay Area School of Enterprise and the Peralta Colleges to complete high school graduation requirements and get a jump start on college and/or career. Through the program participants receive:

• Academic and vocational counseling and support
• Weekly group meetings to develop skills and capacity in academic and personal achievement
• High school diploma and college credit. A possible AA degree as a high school diploma alternative or a certification relating to specific vocational training
• Adult mentorship
• Real world skill building through internships and community projects
• Financial assistance for books and free tuition

Who can enroll
Youth participants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Sixteen to nineteen years old
• Motivated to seek a higher education
• At least a junior standing in credits
• Evidence of academic ability and interest
• Willingness to develop and implement academic, vocational, and personal goals—and achieve them!
